You have examined the way he constructs perspectives and representations of concepts, identities and also groups. All these through textual choices such as language, medium, style and text structures. Create an essay in which you offer a perspective on the representations of concepts, identities and/or groups in Markus Zusaks The Book Thief.
In your response, analyse how the novel conveys this representation through Markus Zusaks use of – Characters. Stylistic devices (e.g. imagery and figurative language). Literary devices (e.g. symbolism, metaphor, simile and irony) To complete this task you must: Create an essay that offers a considered, critical perspective. The essay also analyses the representation of a concept, identity and/or group in the text. Also, adds to ongoing, informed and public conversation about representations in texts. Select, synthesise, organise and sequence subject matter from the novel to support your perspective and achieve your purpose.
Position the audience to think in particular ways about the representations in the text, using generic conventions and a range of textual features of an essay. Use relevant quotes from the book to prove topic. Write this essay in present tense. Purpose: To inform and persuade through analysis.

I have selected a topic for the essay although if you have a better topic to use, please let me know.
