Interaction between SDGs and primary macro measures discussion. Research the Sustainable Development Goals (Links to an external site.)
Research the Sustainable Development Goals (Links to an external site.) (SDGs). Briefly summarize the SDGs based on your research, then discuss the likely interactions between the SDGs and a nation’s primary macro measures (GDP, CPI, Unemployment). Are some of the SDGs likely to be met as a country strives to improve its main macro measures (which SDGs?)? Would achieving certain SDGs impact a country’s macro measures (which SDGs?)? Choose a country of interest to you and discuss that country’s performance on the main macro measures and at least two of the SDGs (you will need to look up statistics). Include an APA-style reference list for the sources you used.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
The 17 SDGs are integrated—they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others and that development must balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
Countries have committed to prioritizing progress for those who are the furthest behind. The SDGs are designed to end poverty, hunger, AIDS, and discrimination against women and girls.
The creativity, know-how, technology, and financial resources from all of society are necessary to achieve the SDGs in every context.
